Awards 2007/08
The Wedding Cake Company is
delighted to announce that Colin has not only won a Certificate
of Merit at the
esteemed International
Cake Show held at the NEC Birmingham on 11th November 2007,
but has managed a double by winning a Merit at the very
prestigious Salon Culinaire International De Londres at
Hotelympia. Held on Febuary 17th - 21st 2008
at ExCel London, it
is the UK's largest internationally respected cheffing
competition, hosting more than 85 competition classes over 5
days. Colin entered a wedding cake into the Pastry Chef section
of Salon Display. Description and photo to follow.
Colin's winning design at the
International Cake Show was based upon a retrospective take on
Wedgwood Pottery, "England's finest china company". The design
used the same colour palette as the pottery (Wedgwood blue and
Chalk White) and featured a double stacked hexagonal design
separated by 6 white plaster swan pillars. Handmade water lilies
where used to decorate the boarders of each stack. Royal Icing
piping on the sides and top formed delicate dotted swags.
